Kim Wood joined The Nimitz Group in December 2025 as Counsel, bringing experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and federal regulatory matters. She has worked extensively on energy and technology policy, with a focus on congressional activity, agency rulemakings, and client-facing strategy.
Prior to joining Nimitz, Kim was a Mitigation Legal Fellow at the Georgetown Climate Center, where she focused on large-load energy issues, data center siting, and state and local regulatory frameworks. She has also interned at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Department of Justice, developing a broad foundation in federal policy and regulatory processes.
Kim earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Georgetown Environmental Law Review. She holds a B.A. from Rice University in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology and English Literature, with a minor in Business.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and marathoning
