Drew Benbow

Outreach Director

Drew Benbow is a retired U.S. Army Major, attorney, and senior leader at The Nimitz Group, where he leads strategic engagement and execution on Capitol Hill. In this role, he focuses on advancing client priorities across defense policy, military personnel issues, and national security, with particular experience navigating the National Defense Authorization Act and committee-driven legislative processes.

Drew brings extensive experience across the federal government, including roles at the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. Department of State. His background spans legislative affairs, regulatory policy, and congressional engagement, with a consistent focus on defense, veterans' issues, and the intersection of policy and operational impact.

As a retired Army officer with over two decades of service, including multiple overseas deployments, Drew brings a disciplined, mission-oriented approach to leadership and problem-solving. His military experience continues to inform his work in policy and advocacy, particularly on issues affecting service members, readiness, and national defense.

In his spare time, Drew enjoys writing political fiction. Drew is the author of the published novel, The Devil's Politics, reflecting his perspective on leadership and decision-making in complex environments. Drew holds a Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law, a Bachelor of Arts from Hampton University, and is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C.
